The rail industry is booming. This was evidenced by at the success of InnoTrans 2018. After four days, the leading international trade fair for transportation technology closed its gates last Friday. Ruf Telematik also had a successful exhibition with a high amount of booth visitors.

InnoTrans lived up to its reputation once again this year as an international business hotspot and the economic engine of its industry. 3,062 exhibitors from 61 countries showcased the full product and service repertoire of the mobility industry at the fully booked Berlin fair. The exhibitions included more than 400 innovations, 155 world premieres (amongst others also the VisiWeb neo train conductor app from Ruf Telematik) and 155 vehicles. Around 160,000 international visitors from 149 countries arrived in the German capital to inform themselves on the extensive offering of this industry which represents a significant increase compared to 2016.

Great interest and more visitors

Ruf Telematik is also looking back on a very successful trade fair. Over the length of the fair, 25 percent more visitors than in 2016 were welcomed at the booth. These consisted of individual visitors as well as delegations of train manufacturers and train operators from Europe, Asia and the Americas.

The visitors were particularly interested in the ICT solution VisiWeb neo, the new modular and scalable ICT solution for suburban, inner city, regional and long-distance transportation vehicles. At the booth, VisiWeb neo was being demonstrated via a fully functional 3D train model as a fully integrated solution with all its components. In particular, customers praised the high processing quality of the products.

A real highlight at the booth came in the shape of the VisiWeb train conductor smartphone app which had been declared a world first ahead of the fair. It was also one of the stops of the InnoTrans innovation tour organized by the fair management. The daily live presentation of the VisiWeb train conductor app was simultaneously being translated into English for the registered business and media visitors.
